RG3 and RG3-M Data Logging Rain Gauge

Onset’s Data Logging Rain Gauges (RG3 and RG3-M) are self-contained, battery-powered rainfall data collection and recording systems. The Data Logging Rain Gauge integrates a HOBO® Pendant™ Event data logger into a tipping-bucket rain gauge. The RG3 automatically records up to 160” (320 cm for the RG3-M) of rainfall data that can be used to determine rainfall rates, times and duration. A time and date stamp is stored for each 0.01” (0.2 mm for the RG3-M) tip event for detailed analysis. The logger can also record air temperature when used with an optional radiation shield.

• Memory Capacity: 64K; number of data points depends on rainfall rate: 16K to 23K tips when recording rainfall only; 25K to 30K data points when recording rainfall and temperature

HOBOware Software is required for operation of the above loggers.
HOBOware software and an Optic USB Base Station* with Coupler (COUPLER-UA) are required for operation of HOBO Pendant loggers.
* The HOBO Waterproof Shuttle can also be used as a base station.

The RG2 and RG2-M Data Logging Rain Gauges are still available. The RG2 and RG2-M are serial-based and work with BoxCar^® and BoxCar Pro software.
