The 1255 FRA is ideally suited to a wide variety of applications in the fields of electronics and the analysis of electrochemical / biological phenomena.
These include:
Evaluation of dielectric and semiconductor materials
Group delay measurements on transmission lines and television circuits
Pulse transformer and delay line circuits
Evaluation of wideband amplifiers and switched mode power supplies
Performance of filters:- insertion loss, bandwidth and ripple
Corrosion and inhibitor studies
Organic / inorganic coating analysis
Development of fuel cell materials
Studies on animal and plant tissue properties
Impedance measurement can provide greater sensitivity and also more information about the processes than conventional dc methods, particularly when impedance's are high or when low conductivity media are being used. High frequency measurements enable the calculation of solution resistance values, thus enabling corrosion resistant materials and polymer coatings (interfacial capacitance's) to be studied.
Frequency resolution can be optimized with logarithmic sweeps, or spot measurements to minimize analysis time. Data can be plotted during the measurement scan, in standard formats such as Bode plots and Complex plane diagrams.
The 1255 FRA is a high precision instrument for measuring gain, phase and group delay
