Precisión y Resolución
del 1285
The accuracy and resolution of the 1285 enable the
instrument to be used in experimental studies where reliability and
sensitivity are required. The instrument provides resolution down to 1microV
for the reference electrode and 1pA for the working electrode. The
instrumental accuracy is achieved by the use of two separate "5 x
9" digital voltmeters (> 18 bit using Solartron's patented pulse
width conversion technique) having high accuracy, stability and linearity
throughout the instrument's range. The voltage accuracy is 0.1% of the
voltage reading plus 100mV, similarly the current accuracy is 0.1% of the
current reading plus 0.05% of the range. One DVM is dedicated to current
measurement the other to voltage thus allowing simultaneous voltage and
current evaluation. This feature is essential for measuring electrochemical
noise.
The measurement configuration enables four-terminal measurement. This is
particularly useful in the analysis of individual cells within battery arrays
and monitoring ion transport across cell or polymer membranes. Analysis of
systems where the sample is not physically close to the working electrode
also requires four terminal measurement. The applications of three terminal
measurement are general corrosion monitoring and coating/inhibitor analysis.
Two terminal measurement is reserved for general electroanalytical chemistry
and materials characterization.

Listamos algunas de las aplicaciones y características del
1285:
• Excelente sensibilidad de Voltaje y Corriente (1microV/1pA real, no calculado)
• Four terminal
measurement capability (battery and membrane measurements)
• Versatile
tailor-made Windows-based software enabling real-time analysis and rapid data
manipulation
• Accurate and
sensitive corrosion analysis (Tafel plots, cyclic voltammetry - the ASTM
standard scan rate is 0.1667mV/sec, 10mV/min)
• High
polarization voltage (+/- 14.5V) and current(+/-2A), making it suitable for
battery analysis
• Floating
measurements making the instrument particularly suited to pipeline, autoclave
and storage tank analysis
• Simultaneous
voltage and current measurement (using Solartron DVM technology, two >18
bit 5x9 DVM's are used, one dedicated to current measurement and the other to
voltage.)
• The two DVM's
mean that electrochemical noise measurements can also be performed which
enables information on corrosion mechanisms and the effectiveness of
inhibitor systems to be determined
• Versatile
instrument capable of field and laboratory analysis
